American Airlines Vs Porter Facebook

The most recent posts can be the difference between a like and hitting the backspace. As a company you can’t afford to have an “off” post everything has to be engaging and fun for the social media user. Porter has a cute animated racoon mascot that frequents posts suggested customers check their flight due to inclement weather.

Beyond having informative messages, you also need to have viewer engagement, posting frequently with no response or feedback is counter active. Of the past 25 posts these are the most successful posts by each company respectively.

Porter:

In The Sky
Aviation Day was February 23rd, and Porter didn’t miss their chance to share a photo from the cockpit. A picturesque view above the clouds garnered 244 likes and 11 shares, which while compared to American Airlines 7,800 likes when you compare total Page Likes, the numbers are comparable.

With 7,800 likes and 673 shares this post engaged viewers to like and comment more then any other post. It is an act of good ethics and marketing from American Airlines showcasing their Flight Training and Tuition Re-Imbursement for future Pilots.

Airplane
Both companies use the 50/50 rule perfectly never leaning too much on either side. Porter tends to focus on sharing customer photos and encouraging them to submit for the chance to be showcased. Both companies also share feel good stories while also promoting their deals and packages in a non pushy convenient method.
